چکیده

We bootstrapped Chinese WordNet with semantic domain labels of WordNet Domains for constructing a language resource called Chinese WordNet Domains. The bootstrapping methods work from three aspects: 1) Princeton WordNet alignment, 2) lexical semantic relations and 3) domain taxonomy mapping. Experimental results of our proposed bootstrapping based domain predication achieve satisfying effects. We believe the resulting Chinese WordNet Domains will be the first oriental language resource, which can be used to interoperate with the existing WordNet Domains of several languages and benefits for cross-language and domain-specific researches and applications. In addition, we also plan to release resulting Chinese WordNet Domains to the community for research purposes.

Procedures and Problems in Korean-Chinese-Japanese Wordnet with Shared Semantic Hierarchy

This paper introduces a Korean-Chinese-Japanese wordnet for nouns, verbs and adjectives. This wordnet is constructed based on a hierarchy of shared semantic categories originated from NTT Goidaikei (Hierarchical Lexical System). The Korean wordnet has been constructed by mapping a semantic category to each Korean word sense in a way that maps the same semantic hierarchy to the meanings of nouns...

Korean-Chinese-Japanese Multilingual Wordnet with Shared Semantic Hierarchy

A Chinese-Japanese-Korean wordnet is introduced. It is constructed based on a shared semantic hierarchy that is originated from NTT Goidaikei (Lexical Hierarchical System). Korean wordnet was constructed through the semantic category assignment to every sense of Korean words in a dictionary. Verbs and adjectives’ senses are assigned to the same semantic hierarchy as that of nouns. Each sense of...

Building the Chinese Open Wordnet (COW): Starting from Core Synsets

Princeton WordNet (PWN) is one of the most influential resources for semantic descriptions, and is extensively used in natural language processing. Based on PWN, three Chinese wordnets have been developed: Sinica Bilingual Ontological Wordnet (BOW), Southeast University WordNet (SEW), and Taiwan University WordNet (CWN). We used SEW to sense-tag a corpus, but found some issues with coverage and...

* An earlier version of this paper was presented at the Third Chinese Lexical Semantics Workshop at Academia Sinica in May 2002. We are indebted to the participants as well as colleagues at CKIP for their comments. We would also like to thank the SemaNet 2002 reviewers for their helpful comments. It is our own responsibilities that, due to the short revision time, we were not able to incorporat...
